Jordan: Graduating!

I knew that when Jordan asked me to do his senior portraits it would be fun. Jordan is also a photographer, {check out his work HERE!}so I knew he would come up with an awesome location. He didn't disappoint! He brought me to an awesome spot where there was nature and urban-graffiti combined! It was so much fun hiking around and getting to just be outside for a bit. This was one of my first outdoor experiences this spring and it was the perfect warm sunny day, and our crazy adventure of carrying all of our equipment through rushing rivers made for an interesting story! We climbed all over and just explored that day. Awesome. Oh and we took a few photos as well! ;)

Jordan is such a sweet and smart guy. We were hiking barefoot after crossing the river and after a while my feet really started hurting. And then we went on top of the railroad tracks, where the meanest rocks in the world live. I was trying to shoot him, but I could barely move, basically I was going slower than snail speed. And Jordan just ran down and grabbed my boots for me. He is so thoughtful, and  He really knows his stuff with his camera and lenses and I know that he is going to do some awesome things in the coming years! I loved just talking shop and discussing dreams we have for the future. I can't wait to see where he goes and what the Lord has for him.

Jordan thank you for choosing me as your photographer! I loved just hanging out and getting to have a little outdoor adventure with you! I hope you like what we got!! :))

Tori: Graduating!

This post has a special spot in my heart. I've known Tori for a few years and she is such a sweet and funny girl. Her family was actually the first family I ever photographed. And I'm so thankful to them for giving me the chance to live out my dreams and practice on them. Feel free to check those first photos out here!

Tori has grown to be such a smart and caring and beautiful girl. Man, whoever gets this girl is going to be a lucky one! She is going to school in Texas to study Nursing and she has big plans for the future. I'm so excited to see where she goes in life.

During our session a cameraman approached us and said they were making a documentary, they asked if it would be alright to ask her a question on camera and film her answer. She agreed. {I would never be able to do this and give a coherent answer...} She is BRAVE. They asked her why she believed there was pain in the world. And I'll never forget her answer. I was nervous just watching her be on tape, yet she stood there totally confidently and said "I believe there is pain in the world because the world is fallen, and because of that there is sin in the world." DANG. There were no likes  or ummmmms in this answer. I was so proud of her, because she stood there and said exactly what I would have loved to have said, but never would have been able to form the words. So I know this girl is ready to go out in the world and rock it.

Tori, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to photograph you. I loved spending time with you and bonding over ice cream and Ruby's. I'm so excited to see what the Lord has for your future. But whatever it is, I know it's gonna be awesome. Hope you love your photos!

Be Blessed and Be Thankful!

This is Tori, she loves Toms and cares about Kids. For those who don't know, Toms is a shoe company that donates a pair of shoes to a child who doesn't have any  for every pair of shoes bought. So if you're in the market for a pair, check out Toms Shoes. You'll be not only gaining a new comfy pair, but giving back to others as well. Come on, you know you want to!

Good Friday & Earth Day: A personal post.

An interesting mix, don't you think? I was thinking about these two days this morning as I was editing and came up with a few thoughts I felt were interesting enough to write down {to me at least! haha}. So for your reading enjoyment: My Rambling.

Earth Day is a day when people are supposed to show the Earth a little extra love. Plant a tree, pick up trash.. That sort of thing. But this year Earth day falls on the same day as Good Friday. The day when Jesus poured love and redemption all over the Earth by being crucified for our sins. He died so that we could all have the chance to go spend forever with Him in Heaven. How much more love could the earth receive?

So this year rather than focusing on the physical aspect of Earth Day, I'm a little more focused on the relational aspect. Instead of showing the ground a little more love, how about the people around us? Today, Jesus died for every single one of us. And so maybe we could all make a sacrifice or two for our neighbors. Show those around us that we love them, {even those undeserving of it} because He loved us, even though WE were undeserving.

Be Blessed & Be Thankful!

Hmmm... photo for thought. I shot this photo during a recent Senior Session that I am so excited to be posting tomorrow! :)

Dave & Kelly: Engaged!

These two, these two. I just love them. I have known Kelly for many years, first as an adopted member of my family, second as my boss, and third as my friend. Kelly has always had such a sweet, fun, and sarcastic spirit. Being around her is never boring. When she first met Dave everyone could tell that this one was different. She was happier than I had ever seen her, and I got the feeling it was only a matter of time before they would have plans to become husband and wife. I'm saving their story for their wedding post next month, but I'll share one of my favorite parts. :)

Kelly made a list of things that she wanted in a man someday. On the list were things like, "He must Love Jesus, and Always open the door for me.." And let me tell you, Dave loves Jesus, and he ALWAYS opens the door. He was everything on Kelly's list and more. Plus he is crazy about her. Which you can clearly see in every photo I have of them.

I'm so excited to post these photos today. We met at Eaton Canyon in Pasadena to start the session off and then headed over to Old Town Pasadena to finish it up. Special Thanks to my dear friend and Kelly's sister Katy for coming along to offer moral support, direction, and dancing/dipping lessons! Love you Girl!

Dave and Kelly thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be your photographer. You guys were so awesome for putting up with my awful jokes, and doing everything I asked. {Especially you Dave! He actually somehow got Poison Oak during the session, all for the sake of your engagement photos!} I love you both and can't wait to see all the things God has in store for your future! Hope you like your photos!
