I have a pretty amazing family. We have a very traditional Thanksgiving every year, but this year was different. My cousin Sarah teaches English in South Korea, and she has been gone since January. (If you get a chance, check out her blog here, she tells some hilarious stories about her students, and talks about her amazing world travels!) My family is SO excited to see her, because she is coming home for a late Thanksgiving on Saturday!!! So rather than letting Sarah miss our celebration this year, we decided to celebrate twice. My Dad is a hunter, and each year he brings us something yummy to BBQ! Instead of hogging all the meat we got this year, we decided to have a "beast feast" and eat Elk, Deer, and Antelope along with home fried potatoes and some other "redneck " dishes. We had an awesome time just enjoying eachother's company and being Thankful for all the blessings we received this year. I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving and that you took some time to reflect on all your blessings too!
This year's Gravy!
We decided to deep fry some veggies! They were delicious! And they fir perfectly with the southern redneck motif!

I'll close this post with a photo of my dog Hunter babysitting Rhaylee while she sleeps. :)
Well, we took a poll, and the antelope won, with the elk a close second. Even Kenny ( who originally refused to try any of it), really liked the elk and the deer. Who knew???
ReplyDeleteBy the way, our resident photographer also made mini pumpkin cheesecakes... and they were YUMMY!
